Car survey gathered data from 10,039 drivers who had broken down in the previous 12 months. Each driver answered questions that covered everything from the politeness of the person taking the emergency call to response times, and whether the car was fixed on the spot.

10,039 Which? members completed the car breakdown section of the Car Survey 2010 via a paper-based questionnaire and on-line. Fieldwork took place from 20th December 2009 to 7th March 2010. Members were filtered to ensure they had called out a breakdown company in the last 12 months and could name the company involved.
